Chipping

Bump-and-run gate

A chipping drill for the Foundations stage, on the practice green, in about 10 minutes.

Keep a low chip moving through a narrow starting window.

Equipment

  • 8-iron or wedge
  • 2 tees
  • balls

Steps

  1. 01Set a tee gate one yard in front of the ball.
  2. 02Land six balls on the chosen spot, then compare rollout rather than trying to force a result.
  3. 03Keep the next repetition simple: change only one setup, target, or club choice at a time.

Target

Finish with one clear note about the target, contact, landing spot, pace, or decision practiced.
