Country Club of Hudson, Hudson, OH

Host resort and packages

The tournament runs the HJI Stay to Play Housing Policy, a partnership with several area hotels offering discounted rates to tournament families and spectators. Bookings run through tournament housing partner GYC Planners, rooms are first come first served, and the published host hotels are all within about 20 minutes of the club. Reserve as soon as your player is accepted into the field, since the discounted blocks are limited.

Before you book

Hudson accepts 144 players from an applicant pool of 800 or more, and invitations go out in stages through the spring. Do not book lodging until your player's spot is confirmed, but move fast once it is: the Stay to Play discounted rooms are first come first served, and Hudson itself has almost no hotel inventory of its own.

Most tournament families base in Streetsboro or Stow, about 10 to 15 minutes from the club along I-480 and OH-8. That corridor has the area's real concentration of chain hotels and is the practical default for a Monday-through-Thursday stay.

Late June also overlaps with graduation parties and weddings around Akron, so the closer clusters can sell out. The Akron-Fairlawn and Montrose area, about 25 minutes out, carries more hotel supply and a wider range of price points if you book late or want a backup.

In Hudson

Hudson's historic downtown sits a quarter to half mile from the club, but the town has no chain hotels. The two lodging options inside Hudson itself are small, historic guest houses within walking distance of the green.

Family logistics

Only 144 of 800-plus applicants make the field, and invitations go out in stages through spring, so hold off on booking until your player's spot is confirmed.
Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) is the closest, roughly 25 to 30 minutes from the club. Cleveland Hopkins (CLE) is a larger option about 40 to 45 minutes away.
The schedule runs Monday practice round through a Thursday final round, with the 36-hole cut to the top 30 landing after Tuesday and Wednesday's rounds. If your player doesn't make the cut, some hotels will let you shorten a multi-night booking, so check each property's cancellation policy before you book the full week.
Downtown Hudson's green, shops, and restaurants sit a few minutes from the club and are worth building into meal plans between rounds.
Book the discounted Stay to Play rooms through GYC Planners as early as possible. They are first come first served and the supply of nearby hotel rooms is genuinely limited.
