The story

The Junior Invitational at Sage Valley was founded in 2011 and is hosted by the Invitational Sports Foundation at Sage Valley Golf Club in Graniteville, South Carolina. The organizer calls it one of the most desired invitations in competitive junior golf and says Golfweek has recognized it as the No. 1 junior event in golf. The 2027 playing will be its 15th. The field is small by design: 36 of the top junior boys and 24 of the top girls, competing at the same time. Entry is by invitation, and the organizer does not publish how invitations are decided. Past participants it names include Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland, Cameron Young, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Anna Davis and Megha Ganne. Recent editions have produced repeat names. Miles Russell won the boys' title in 2025 and again in 2026, the first back-to-back champion in the boys' field. Asterisk Talley won the girls' title in 2024 and again in 2026, the first repeat winner in the girls' field; Aphrodite Deng won it in 2025. For 2027 the organizer lists March 17-19, and the only field list posted so far is 2026's.
