Golf Simulator PC Requirements: Compare the Software
Choose the software and target display experience before choosing the computer. A native range app and a demanding course simulator can have different requirements.

| SkyTrak app 4.4.7 | The vendor lists a different legacy requirement set. | Do not use it to size a version 5.0 simulation plan or recommend an unsupported operating system. |
| SkyTrak 5.0 or later | The page separately lists minimum and recommended PC hardware for the named plans. | Check the exact plan and current compatibility before purchase. |
| GSPro: great 1080 p | Vendor lists RTX 3070/3060 ti,16 GB memory and 20 GB free space. | These are published recommendations, not our measured frame rates. |
| GSPro: great 4 K | Vendor lists RTX 3080 or better,32 GB memory and 20 GB free space. | Screen resolution changes the recommended configuration. |
Published vendor tiers checked October 23, 2026. These are not measured product tests, live quotes or guaranteed frame rates.
The short version
- Match exact software version and plan.
- Distinguish minimum operation from the desired resolution.
- Check ports, network and peripherals as well as CPU and graphics.
Two reference parts lists: 1080p and 4K
GSPro’s Version 3 FAQ links stable release 3.1.6.20 and names desktop RTX 3070/3060 Ti for its 1080p recommendation, versus RTX 3080 or better and 32 GB for 4K. These two original bills of materials make the component choices explicit. The shared 32 GB kit also exceeds the listed 1080p memory recommendation. Neither configuration has measured course performance.
| Part | 1080p worksheet | 4K worksheet |
|---|---|---|
| CPU and cooler | Boxed Intel Core i5-12400, included Laminar RM1 | Same; retain the CPU maker’s power limits |
| Motherboard | MSI PRO B760M-P DDR4, LGA1700 | Same exact DDR4 board |
| Memory | Kingston KVR32N22D8K2/32, 2 × 16 GB DDR4-3200 JEDEC | Same 32 GB kit; no XMP claim needed |
| Graphics | Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti GAMING OC 8G, rev. 2.0 | Gigabyte RTX 3080 GAMING OC 10G, rev. 2.0 |
| Storage | WD Blue SN580 1 TB, M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe | Same; retain room for Windows, courses and updates |
| Power supply | Corsair RM850e (2025), 850 W, supplied cables | Same; use both separate supplied 6+2-pin PCIe cables |
| Case and fans | Fractal Focus 2 RGB, FD-C-FOC2A-03; two included Aspect 14 fans | Same; standard horizontal GPU, no front radiator |
| Operating system | Separate licensed Windows 11 64-bit installation | Same; confirm supported firmware, TPM and Secure Boot |
| Connection plan | Wired internet using the board’s gigabit LAN; USB keyboard and mouse | Same; a monitor needing its own wired network may require an extra adapter |
Add a keyboard, mouse, suitable projector or display and a cable matching its input to the selected GPU’s HDMI or DisplayPort output. Check the monitor’s exact wired, wireless or Bluetooth requirement; the motherboard does not list built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. A single Ethernet socket cannot be assumed to satisfy two separate networks.
Check the joins between components
The CPU and board use LGA1700; both list DDR4-3200 support, and the named memory kit uses that JEDEC setting. The board accepts the SN580’s M.2 2280 PCIe form. These are specification matches, not a claim that the exact kit was physically tested or appears on a checked memory QVL.
The case accepts the board’s Micro ATX format. Without a front radiator, its published 405 mm GPU allowance exceeds the selected cards’ 282 mm and 320 mm lengths. Its 250 mm PSU allowance exceeds the RM850e’s 140 mm body, and the included RM1 cooler’s stated height is below the case’s 170 mm allowance. Follow the component manuals for cable clearance, mounting and airflow.
The selected 3060 Ti calls for one 8-pin PCIe connector and a 600 W PSU recommendation; the 3080 calls for two and 750 W. The 850 W RM850e 2025 supplies two separate 6+2-pin PCIe cables and the motherboard power cables. Use its own supplied cables; a matching plug shape does not make another PSU’s modular cable compatible.
Minimum operation, a published recommendation and a measured frame rate are separate claims. GSPro’s lowest graphics label is ambiguous; these examples use its unambiguous higher tiers instead. No course frame rate, thermal result or current retail availability is claimed.
Keep software support separate from the PC
SkyTrak’s native app 4.4.7 and its version 5.0-or-later plans have separate requirements. Do not use the legacy list to size a newer simulation plan, or substitute a laptop GPU for a named desktop part. GSPro does not list SkyTrak among its officially supported launch monitors; a capable PC does not create that integration support.
Check Windows 11 firmware eligibility, current drivers, the actual monitor connection and the display’s supported resolution before ordering. The motherboard’s own video sockets are not the selected discrete GPU’s outputs. Keep normal security protection in place; no antivirus removal is needed to use this worksheet.
For secondhand equipment, read ownership and license transfer. For the on-screen scoring choice, compare putting modes.
