Texas Adaptive Championship: Classification and Entry Prep
An adaptive rankings class does not automatically determine a tournament's flight or tees. Prepare classification and practical-support questions for the organiser without assuming that another TGA championship's conditions apply.

Four preparation lanes, no automatic classification
Original teaching comparison
Four preparation lanes, no automatic classification| Situation | What changes | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Event conditions | The completed 2026 TGA event accepted male and female adaptive golfers, with a first-in field limited to 60. | Those published terms are dated context, not proof of a current place or a future season's rules. |
| Sport class | The event linked USAGA guidance, whose rankings use 15 sport classes based on activity limitation. | Do not assign yourself a class from a public checklist here; use the applicable classification route. |
| Event flight and tees | USAGA says ranking classes do not necessarily dictate each event's divisions or tees. | Ask the event organiser which flight and tee conditions apply to the accepted entry. |
| Practical support | The 2026 event allowed one caddie per player and did not supply caddies. | Confirm your caddie plan and any access or equipment-support needs separately. No facility capability is assumed. |

The short version
- The cited 2026 event has finished; no 2027 opening is verified here.
- USAGA ranking classes and an event's flights or tees are different decisions.
- Confirm caddie and access support directly; the event did not supply caddies.
Start with the adaptive event's own terms
The read 2026 page described a 36-hole individual stroke-play championship at Prairie Lakes, with a $195 fee and a field limited to 60. Competition on October 20–21 has passed as of this guide's October 24 check. The price and field terms are not a current offer or a verified 2027 rule.
Do not import the general men's championship residency or Handicap Index baseline into this separate mixed-gender event. No blanket equivalent condition appeared in the eligibility paragraph read here. Use the actual adaptive event packet and its decision rather than another championship's age or Index threshold.
Keep ranking class and event flight separate
The event links USAGA's sport-class guidance. USAGA describes fifteen ranking classes and explicitly distinguishes that ranking structure from the divisions and tees chosen by an individual organiser. A rankings classification therefore does not on its own establish the event flight or tee assignment.
Prepare the classification information requested through the official route without treating this article as a diagnostic tool. The 2026 page described men, women and a men's 60-plus senior flight; that is not permission to copy a different TGA event's senior-age condition. Ask which current event provisions apply to the actual entry.
Confirm the support you will use
Record the caddie plan, transport and any equipment or access questions that matter to the player. The 2026 event allowed one caddie and said TGA would not provide one. A public tournament page does not certify that a facility can meet every access need.
Use the organiser's linked page for current contacts because conflicting contact details should not be resolved by guessing an email. Keep classification requested, entry requested, accepted entry and practical arrangements as separate statuses. This guide prepares those questions without collecting medical records, promising support or submitting an application.
