Texas Four-Ball entry starts with both partners, not the better player's Index alone. Check each player's conditions and the pair's division before treating an exemption or payment as acceptance.

Under the stated 2026 age and Index conditions they can examine Championship eligibility; the 54-year-old does not meet Senior's age condition.
A misleading Index comparison
Another pair is age 54 and 58, with Indexes 5.0 and 6.8.
The 6.8 exceeds Championship's stated 6.4 maximum, while the younger partner still prevents a Senior entry. Check the whole pair, not one favourable condition.
Senior and Super Senior
The published 2026 conditions require both partners at least 55 for Senior or 65 for Super Senior, with an 8.4 maximum Index in those divisions.
Confirm the actual event's measurement date and complete requirements before entry.
Pair exemption
An exempt player changes to a nonexempt partner.
The general men's policy says the pair exemption is lost in that situation. Do not transfer a team place by assumption.

Check both individuals before choosing the pair's division
The detailed 2026 Four-Ball entry section lists Championship as male amateur Texas residents aged at least 25 by first-round play, with an Index no higher than 6.4. Senior requires both partners to be at least 55; Super Senior requires both at least 65, with the stated 8.4 maximum Index for those divisions.
The organiser's general men's policy also addresses member-club affiliation, active GHIN/Index and sporting-residency conditions, subject to the specific event terms. These are organiser entry criteria, not a legal residency determination by this guide. A real pair should confirm the exact measurement and deadline instructions in the current packet.
Separate payment, exemption and accepted entry
The published team fee is $800 in the read 2026 detailed terms. That historical amount is not a quote for a future season. Both exempt and nonexempt teams still need to register by the applicable deadline, and exemption priority ends at its stated point.
Remaining waitlisted teams can fill available spots, potentially changing division sizes. A payment, exemption claim or eligible partner list is not the same as explicit accepted entry. Keep the pair, division, exemption basis, deadline and actual decision on one record so a partner change does not quietly invalidate the plan.
Understand the cut without inventing a format resolution
The read 2026 sources describe a low-40-teams-and-ties cut after 36 holes with proportional division representation, and say the allocation is announced with pairings. Do not assume that the entire cut is simply the lowest forty scores regardless of division.
The event sources conflict on total holes and some header scheduling details. Those claims are deliberately excluded from this partner/division task rather than silently repaired.
