Golf decisions
Topgolf fundraising: choose Spirit Nights, an event or free practice
Start with the outcome: does the group need cash, a hosted social event or lower practice costs? Topgolf publishes different routes for those jobs. A free practice session does not generate a donation, and the PTA/PTO Spirit Night price is not a general charity-event rate.

Four fictional organizer decisions- Fictional: PTA ticket margin
A qualifying public-school PTA expects eighty guests and plans $18 tickets.
Income is $1,440. At the published $10 attendee charge, the base venue cost is $800, leaving $640 before taxes, payment fees or other expenses. It is a margin illustration, not guaranteed net proceeds.
- Fictional: unrelated charity
A charity wants to assume the same $10 Spirit Night price.
Its public-school PTA/PTO eligibility has not been established. Compare a separately quoted private event instead.
- Fictional: high-school team practice
A coach wants to reduce the team's practice expense rather than sell tickets.
Investigate Play It Forward as the official representative; keep cost savings separate from funds raised.
- Fictional: small or unsuitable date
A PTA has thirty interested guests or needs a date the venue cannot offer.
The published Spirit Night minimum is forty and days vary by venue. Change the plan before advertising a confirmed event.

The short version
- Spirit Nights are a specific public-school PTA/PTO fundraising offer.
- Private events need their own venue-specific price and terms.
- Play It Forward provides qualifying groups free game play, subject to scheduling and availability.
Spirit Nights: check eligibility and the real margin
Topgolf's offer is for public-school PTAs and PTOs, at participating venues subject to availability. It publishes a forty-person minimum and a venue-dependent maximum up to 204. The $10 per-person base includes two hours of game play and specified soft drinks; taxes are excluded.
The published ticket example suggests selling above the attendee charge. That difference is only the starting margin. Put ticket processing, advertising, any extra purchases and the final venue tax amount in the same calculation before promising a donation. Confirm the date and applicable terms before taking money from families.
Private events: obtain a comparable product
The general parties-and-events route is a separate product with venue selection, food and drink options and possible upgrades. A public-school offer does not establish another organization's price. Compare the actual reserved play time, guest count, inclusions and payment terms together.
For a fundraising event, record who receives the proceeds and who must cover any shortfall. Ask for the minimum commitment, tax and service charges, changes, cancellation and final-count deadlines. A general event page is not a private-event quote, and covered bays do not establish a guarantee against every weather disruption.
Play It Forward: savings rather than cash raised
The official page names Special Olympics athletes, high-school golf teams and charities supporting youth mentorship, leadership and empowerment. It offers free game play Monday through Thursday from opening until 5 pm, with extended hours only for global charity partners. Requests must be scheduled at least seventy-two hours ahead and can be unavailable.
An official representative must use that program's request route. Do not sell it as an unrestricted fundraising package or promise that a submitted request is confirmed. Keep the existing Youth on Course individual-offer guide separate: this is the organizer's choice between ticket revenue, a paid event and qualifying group practice.
