Two care labels, two different answers
Can You Wash a Golf Glove? Check the Model First
A golf glove’s material is not enough to choose a wash method. Compare named manufacturer instructions, check exceptions and dry and store the glove properly.
Gear & Equipment · Updated October 21, 2026
The short version
- Check the exact glove model before washing; leather and synthetic labels alone do not authorize a method.
- The named G/FORE Collection glove specifies damp-cloth spot cleaning. Bionic’s Men’s StableGrip 2.0 permits a cold, gentle wash; its care guide excludes RelaxGrip 2.0.
- An unknown model needs its own instructions. Do not assume another brand’s machine-wash guidance applies.
Two care labels, two different answers
Read the model label first
Leather does not have
one washing instruction.
G/FORE · G4MC0G01
Damp-cloth
spot clean
The named Collection glove uses AA cabretta leather. Its product care page does not authorize a machine wash.
Bionic · Men’s StableGrip 2.0
Cold, gentle wash
then air dry
This model’s product page permits hand or machine washing: cold water, mild detergent, gentle cycle, no bleach and air drying. Secure the Velcro tab. The separate care guide excludes RelaxGrip 2.0.
Unknown model? Stop before soaking or machine washing. Find its label or ask the manufacturer. These cards summarize the named manufacturers’ care instructions.
Find the model before adding water
Check the packaging, purchase record or inside label for the exact model. Then use the manufacturer’s care page. A generic video about cleaning a leather glove cannot establish what treatment, construction or dye your glove uses.
If the model is unknown, avoid soaking or machine washing while you identify it. If the label and website disagree, ask the manufacturer which applies. Guessing at a wash recipe can turn a cleanable glove into one that no longer fits.
What the checked instructions actually allow
Swipe to compare all three columns.
| Product / material | Supported method | Drying / limits |
|---|---|---|
| G/FORE Men’s Collection, G4MC0G01. AA cabretta leather. | Damp-cloth spot cleaning | No drying method stated on the cited product page; no machine-wash permission. Check the product label for any additional directions. |
| Bionic Men’s StableGrip 2.0 with Dual Expansion Zone. Cabretta leather with Lycra web and motion zones. | Hand or machine wash in cold water with mild detergent; gentle cycle, no bleach. Secure the Velcro tab when washing with other garments. | Air dry. The care guide warns against extreme heat and excludes RelaxGrip 2.0. This row applies to the named Men’s StableGrip 2.0 model, not every Bionic glove. |
| Unknown glove / unconfirmed material | Identify the model and get its care directions | Drying directions unconfirmed. No inherited washing permission from either example. |

Drying is part of the method
Bionic specifies air drying and warns against extreme heat. Do not substitute a tumble dryer, radiator or other forced-heat shortcut. Follow the exact model instructions for handling and reshaping while damp.
After play, give the glove room to air instead of leaving it sweaty and crumpled in a closed pocket. Avoid using it as a towel. Rotate a spare when needed, then check the original glove is fully dry before storing it.
Cleaning cannot repair every failure
A wash will not repair a hole, split seam or failed closure. If the glove becomes restrictive, distorted or uncomfortable, reassess its fit and condition before the next round. Cleaning and replacement are separate decisions.
For finger-length and palm-fit checks, see the glove-fitting guide. For budgeting equipment over a season, use the junior golf cost guide. The care comparison reports the manufacturers’ instructions; it does not establish which glove lasts longer.

- Can a leather golf glove go in the washing machine?
- Only when the exact model’s manufacturer allows it. Bionic explicitly permits machine washing for Men’s StableGrip 2.0 using cold water, mild detergent and a gentle cycle, with no bleach and air drying. Its care guide excludes RelaxGrip 2.0. Neither instruction transfers to a different leather glove.
- What if I do not know the model?
- Find the label or purchase record and ask the manufacturer before soaking or machine washing. Do not borrow a care method from a different glove.
