In Wyoming, golf is played in both a fall and a spring season by boys and girls, but the WHSAA lists state golf meets for the fall only. The 2026 fall season began with practice on August 10 and the first contest on August 12, and state meets were held September 18-19 (3A and 4A) and September 22-23 (2A). The 2027 spring season runs from a March 29 practice start to a May 22 last contest.

Girls on boys teams

The WHSAA Handbook lists boys teams (rule 7.8.64) and girls teams (rule 7.8.65) separately. Its general Mixed Gender Teams rule (5.0.8) says that, where permitted by Title IX and after considering the activities offered by the WHSAA, gender mixed teams are prohibited and girls may not compete on or against a boys' team. Rule 5.0.81 lets the Commissioner waive that only for an activity that is not offered separately for boys and girls. The golf rules themselves do not say whether a girl may play on a boys' team.
