Bethpage tee times: verify the account before the window opens
At Bethpage, selecting 'Resident' during registration is not the same as receiving verified-resident access. Resolve the account category before the desired booking window, then keep the reservation fee, green fee and arrival requirements separate. The state’s June 2026 FAQ supplies the relevant sequence.

Four fictional pre-booking checksCASE 01
Fictional: verified Saturday player
A golfer already has the verified New York resident account category.
For Saturday play, prepare for the previous Saturday’s 7 p.m. opening, using that verified category.
CASE 02
Fictional: resident awaiting verification
A New York golfer has registered but verification has not been completed.
Use the five-day treatment until the account is verified. An address entered during sign-up does not itself unlock seven days.
CASE 03
Fictional: a visiting Saturday player
A visitor wants the same Saturday round.
The published five-day opening is Monday at 7 p.m. Availability then is not guaranteed.
CASE 04
Fictional: a late arrival
The reserver plans to reach the course only twenty minutes before the round.
That is the tee-box timing, not the earlier claim-and-payment requirement. The FAQ requires claiming the time an hour ahead.
Fictional timelines from the June 2026 official reservation FAQ. No account was created, identification collected or tee time reserved.
The short version
- Verified New York residents get seven-day access; unverified residents and visitors get five days.
- For Saturday play, those windows begin at 7 p.m. the previous Saturday or Monday respectively.
- The reservation holder must claim, pay and play, with the time claimed at least one hour before tee-off.
Saturday play: which window applies?
| Account category | Published booking opening | On the play date |
|---|---|---|
| Verified New York resident | 7 pm on the previous Saturday | Reserver claims/pays/plays; claim at least one hour early |
| Other resident or visitor | 7 pm on Monday | Same claim requirement; tee box twenty minutes early |
| Any account | Wait for an actual completed confirmation | A selected time or pending verification is not a reservation |
Finish verification as a separate task
The state FAQ distinguishes a registered resident from a verified resident. It describes verification through the park using qualifying New York identification, including an in-person option, and asks users to obscure the identification number for its stated email process. Use the official instructions directly; this guide does not collect identification.
Before the window opens, check that the login works and the correct verified category is available. The FAQ allows one reservation account per person and warns that duplicate accounts can be deactivated. A second account is not a workaround for an unresolved category.
Use the correct Saturday timeline
Verified residents receive seven-day advance reservations at 7 p.m. across Black, Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. Other residents and nonresidents receive five-day access at the same release time. Write the intended play date and its applicable opening together before selecting a course.
Booking includes an emailed code and a short transaction timer. A completed confirmation, rather than merely selecting a time, establishes the reservation. The $5 per-player booking charge is separate from green fees; ordinary cancellation, modification or no-show does not refund it. Keep the confirmation and payment receipt together.
Plan payment, cancellation and arrival
The reserver must personally claim, pay and play. Green fees are paid on the play date, with the time claimed at least one hour before tee-off; players then need to reach the tee box twenty minutes before the start. The FAQ distinguishes Black and Red residency pricing from Blue, Green and Yellow.
Cancellation and modification use the online system. The FAQ describes a forty-eight-hour penalty-free cancellation threshold, a $15 per-player no-show charge, and limits on repeated cancellations or changes. Check course-specific reservation-frequency and walk-up rules rather than assuming every Bethpage product has identical exceptions.
