Junior Golf Club Sizing Chart by Height and Age

Size junior golf clubs by height, not age, and use the chart for the brand you are buying. U.S. Kids Golf sizes its clubs in three-inch player-height bands from 36 to 69 inches (91.4 to 175.3 cm), measured with shoes on. Wilson's Profile Jr sets come in Small, Medium and Large, covering 40 to 63 inches (101.6 to 160.0 cm). Both charts are below.

The short version

  • U.S. Kids Golf and Wilson publish different size charts, so use the chart for the brand you are buying. This page does not offer a cross-brand chart.
  • U.S. Kids Golf lists eleven three-inch player-height sizes from 36 to 69 inches, plus an Infant size. It asks for height with shoes on.
  • Wilson's Profile Jr sets are Small (40 to 50 inches), Medium (50 to 56) and Large (56 to 63). Wilson also prints an age range and a floor-to-finger range for each size.
  • Neighboring sizes share a boundary height on both charts, and neither chart says which size to choose there or tells you to size up. Ask the manufacturer or a fitter.

Junior golf club size charts by height: U.S. Kids Golf and Wilson

Each manufacturer sets its own junior sizes. The two charts below are reproduced from the manufacturers’ own sites as they stood on October 11, 2026. Inches are the published figures. Centimeters are our conversion at 2.54 cm to the inch, rounded to one decimal place. Each chart applies only to the product line named above it.

The Infant size has no height range on that page. Each size has its own page that repeats the range, for example “Fits Players 54–57 Inches”. The same height labels are used across its club systems: the 54 to 57 inch page lists both Ultralight and Tour Series clubs.

Source: Wilson’s “How to find the perfect fit” chart, an image in the photo gallery of its Profile Jr Small, Medium and Large set pages, checked October 11, 2026. Small, Medium and Large and the age ranges are Wilson’s own labels. The chart’s only measuring instruction is to measure “standing tall”. It does not say whether shoes are on, and it does not explain how to take the floor-to-finger measurement.

How the two charts differ:

  • Width of a size. Every U.S. Kids Golf size is 3 inches wide. Wilson’s three sizes span 10, 6 and 7 inches.
  • Range covered. U.S. Kids Golf’s player-height sizes run from 36 to 69 inches. Wilson’s Profile Jr chart runs from 40 to 63 inches.
  • How to measure. U.S. Kids Golf asks for height with shoes on. Wilson asks you to measure standing tall and adds a floor-to-finger range.
  • Age. Wilson prints an age range beside each size. U.S. Kids Golf’s Fitting Center sizes by height only.
  • Club length. Neither chart lists club lengths, and this guide does not estimate them.

On both charts, neighboring sizes share a boundary height. At U.S. Kids Golf, 57 inches ends one size and starts the next. At Wilson, 50 inches is both the top of Small and the bottom of Medium. Neither chart says which size a player at exactly that height should choose, and neither tells you to size up. If your child is at or near a boundary, ask the manufacturer or a fitter, or try both sizes in a shop before you buy.

Our club sizing tool looks up the U.S. Kids Golf size for a height you enter in feet and inches. It covers U.S. Kids Golf’s sizes only and no other brand. At a height shared by two sizes it shows the larger size, and at exactly 69 inches it reports the player as above the range. Those are choices in how our tool is built, not rules from U.S. Kids Golf. For a child shorter than both charts, see our toddler and preschooler club guide.

Why these charts use height, not age

Both charts are organized by player height. U.S. Kids Golf’s Fitting Center asks for height and hand, then the club system, and does not ask for age. Wilson leads with height and prints an age range beside it.

Wilson’s own age ranges show why age alone does not pick a size. Small is labeled ages 5 to 8 and Medium ages 8 to 11, so an 8-year-old appears under both. Medium and Large share age 11 in the same way. The height ranges are what separate the sizes.

The only ages on this page are Wilson’s labels for its Profile Jr sets. They are not ages for U.S. Kids Golf or any other brand, and this guide adds no age estimates of its own.

How to measure your child for each chart

Measure the way the manufacturer of the set asks. The two methods are not the same:

  • U.S. Kids Golf. Its Fitting Center says to measure the player’s height in inches with shoes on, then pick the size by player height.
  • Wilson Profile Jr. Its chart says to measure standing tall and to refer to the chart for the set size. It does not mention shoes. It also gives a floor-to-finger range for each size without saying how to measure it. If height and floor to finger point to different sizes, ask Wilson or a fitter.

For either chart, a careful height reading takes four steps:

  • Stand on a hard, flat floor, not carpet.
  • Stand upright against a flat wall, looking straight ahead.
  • Use a tape measure or a wall height chart. If the tape is metric, use the centimeter figures above, or divide centimeters by 2.54 to get inches.
  • Measure again before you buy. A U.S. Kids Golf size is 3 inches wide, so a child near the top of one can move into the next with little growth.

A barefoot height from a pediatrician visit is not the shoes-on measurement U.S. Kids Golf asks for. Measure again in shoes instead of adding an assumed allowance. Our club sizing tool uses U.S. Kids Golf’s sizes, and its Fitting Center gives the measuring instruction.

Putters are sold in the same sizes

Both manufacturers size the putter with the rest of the set. Each Wilson Profile Jr set includes a putter, and U.S. Kids Golf lists putters under the same player-height sizes as its other clubs, for example a putter in its 54 to 57 inch size. Picking a size from either chart therefore picks a putter size too.

A height size does not check how a child stands over a putt. If the putter looks or feels wrong at address, our junior golf putter fitting guide covers what to look at.

When to re-check sizing

Re-check against the manufacturer’s chart, not against an age or a fixed schedule. Measure again when:

  • You are about to buy. Use a measurement taken that week, the way the manufacturer asks.
  • Your child has clearly grown since the last measurement.
  • Their height is at or past the top of their current size on that manufacturer’s chart.
  • A coach or fitter says the clubs look too short or too long. They can see the setup in person, which a chart cannot.

Buying for a particular age group? Our guide to clubs for ages 10-12 covers that stage.

What to do once your child outgrows a size

Outgrowing a size does not have to mean a new set at full price. What comes next depends on where your child now sits on the chart:

  • Still inside the chart: the next size is the next row, which is the next three-inch band at U.S. Kids Golf or the step from Small to Medium to Large at Wilson. Our guide to buying used junior clubs is worth reading before paying full price.
  • Past the top of the chart: Wilson’s Profile Jr chart stops at 63 inches and U.S. Kids Golf’s sizes stop at 69. Beyond that the choice is a teen set or adult clubs. On October 11, 2026 the Size Guide on Wilson’s Teen Deep Red Complete Set page, headed “Profile Complete Golf Set Sizing”, listed a Teen Standard size for heights of 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 8 inches (63 to 68 inches, 160.0 to 172.7 cm). We found no size guide on Wilson’s Teen Profile set page, so confirm the fit with Wilson before buying. Our cutting down adult clubs vs. a junior set guide covers that decision.
  • Near adult height: a fitter can check length in person. Our club fitting guide covers when a paid fitting is worth it.

Whichever applies, our budget vs. premium junior clubs guide and the parent hub help with the buying decision that follows the sizing one.

Frequently asked questions

What is the correct golf club size for my child's height?
It depends on the brand. For U.S. Kids Golf, find the three-inch size that contains your child's height with shoes on, from 36 to 39 inches up to 66 to 69 inches. For Wilson's Profile Jr sets, Small is 40 to 50 inches (101.6 to 127.0 cm), Medium is 50 to 56 (127.0 to 142.2 cm) and Large is 56 to 63 (142.2 to 160.0 cm). Other brands publish their own charts.
Should I size my golfer's golf clubs by height or age?
By height. U.S. Kids Golf's Fitting Center sizes by player height only. Wilson's Profile Jr chart leads with height and prints an age range beside each size, but ages 8 and 11 each appear under two sizes, so age alone does not pick one.
Should I size up so my child can grow into the clubs?
Neither chart on this page says to size up, and we have no manufacturer source for that advice. Both charts place a player by current height. At a height shared by two sizes, such as 57 inches at U.S. Kids Golf or 50 inches at Wilson, the charts do not say which to choose, so ask the manufacturer or a fitter.
How often should I re-check my child's golf club sizing?
Measure before you buy and whenever your child has clearly grown. A U.S. Kids Golf size is 3 inches wide, so a child near the top of one can move into the next with little growth. Use the measuring method that manufacturer asks for each time.
How do I measure my child for golf clubs?
Use the method the club manufacturer asks for. U.S. Kids Golf asks for height in inches with shoes on. Wilson's Profile Jr chart says to measure standing tall and also gives a floor-to-finger range for each size. Stand upright on a hard floor against a flat wall, and measure again in shoes rather than adding a guess to a barefoot height.
Do putters follow the same sizing chart as irons?
For these two brands, yes. Each Wilson Profile Jr set includes a putter, and U.S. Kids Golf lists putters under the same player-height sizes as its other clubs. A height size does not check putting posture, so look at how the putter sits at address as well.
Is this the U.S. Kids Golf size chart?
The first table reproduces the player-height sizes on U.S. Kids Golf's Fitting Center as checked on October 11, 2026, with centimeters added by us. This page is not published by U.S. Kids Golf. Confirm the size on its Fitting Center before you buy.
What size golf clubs does a toddler need?
U.S. Kids Golf's player-height sizes start at 36 to 39 inches, and its Fitting Center lists an Infant size below that without a height range. Wilson's Profile Jr chart starts at 40 inches with Small, which Wilson labels ages 5 to 8. Our toddler and preschooler club guide covers children shorter than both charts.

What this page cannot tell you

  • Only these two manufacturers' charts were checked. Other brands publish their own sizes and measuring methods, and this page does not cover them.
  • Wilson publishes its chart as an image in the photo gallery of its Profile Jr set pages. It applies to that line only. Wilson's Teen Deep Red set page carries a separate size guide with one teen height range, quoted in the last section. We found no size guide on its Teen Profile set page.
  • Centimeters are our conversion of the published inches. Neither chart lists club lengths or says which size to choose at a height shared by two sizes.
  • A height size is a starting point for choosing equipment, not a complete individual fitting.
