All-Star Season
PGA Jr. League All-Stars: Who Qualifies and How
A PGA Jr. League All-Star team is eight players picked from the teams in one local league. Under the 2026 rules a 13u All-Star must be 10 to 13 on July 31, 2026 and a 17u All-Star 14 to 17. Here for scores? The official links come first, just below.
For Golf Parents · Updated October 11, 2026
The short version
- An All-Star team is eight players from one local league, in 13u or 17u. The league decides how they are chosen, and 9u has no All-Star season.
- 2026 rules: a 13u All-Star must be 10 to 13 on July 31, 2026 and a 17u All-Star 14 to 17. Each must be an active player in a local program within 75 miles of driving distance of home or school.
- Teams reach one of 12 Regionals through their Section or a top-four Regional Leaderboard place, and the 12 Regional champions play the championship. The 2027 rules are not published yet.
Scores and results: the official links
This page carries no scores. These are the organizer’s own pages:
- 13u PGA Jr. League Championship hub on PGA.com.
- 17u PGA Jr. League Championship hub on PGA.com.
- Regionals: the schedule, with a “See Scores” link for each of the 12 Regionals.
- All-Star Play Days and Regional Leaderboards, by Region and age division.
- Sectionals: Section Qualifier and Championship schedules.
PGA Jr. League’s Championship page points to each hub “for scores, stories and more”. When we opened the hubs on October 11, 2026, before either championship had started, they showed event details and news stories and no leaderboard yet.
| Division | Dates | Course |
|---|---|---|
| 17u | October 21 to 25, 2026 | Twin Warriors Golf Club, Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico |
| 13u | November 11 to 15, 2026 | Fields Ranch West at PGA Frisco, Frisco, Texas |
Source: PGA Jr. League, PGA Jr. League Championship. Each championship has 12 teams. The organizer’s pages do not agree on the 17u dates. A PGA of America story published October 6, 2026 gives October 22 to 25, and the 17u hub’s own date line read “Oct 21, 2026 - 26, 2025” when we opened it. Confirm the playing days with the team’s coach.
What the All-Star Season is
The All-Star Season is the competitive side of PGA Jr. League, and it is separate from enrolling in a local program. PGA Jr. League’s All-Star Season page describes 13u and 17u All-Star teams formed from a combination of players from each of the teams in a local league, and says players must meet specific age, mileage and player eligibility requirements to join one.
The 2026 All-Star Season runs from May to November: All-Star Play Days and Sectionals first, 12 Regionals between September 4 and October 4, then the two championships.
Play is still a two-person scramble. Some rounds are head-to-head match play, as in the local league, and some are team stroke play, where the best three of a team’s four pair scores make the team total. Our golf tournament formats guide explains the difference between the two.
The Conditions of Play are only recommendations in local league play. They are fully enforced from All-Star Play Days and Sectionals onward. If the league itself is new to you, start with PGA Jr. League explained.
Who is eligible under the 2026 rules
The 2026 Conditions of Play say an All-Star player must meet all of these requirements:
| Requirement | 2026 Conditions of Play |
|---|---|
| League age | 13u: no younger than 10 and no older than 13 on July 31, 2026. 17u: no younger than 14 and no older than 17 on July 31, 2026 |
| Active player | A registered #GameChanger Club member who takes part in a majority of team events, including games, practices and other team activities, through a reasonable local league season, in the league the All-Star team represents |
| Membership date | Registered #GameChanger Club member by July 31, 2026 |
| Mileage | Plays in a local program within 75 miles of driving distance of the player’s residence or the school where the player is enrolled |
| One team | Rostered on only one All-Star team at a time |
| Proof | Players and coaches attest to eligibility at each stage. Proof such as birth certificates, utility bills and school records is required at stages such as Regionals and the national championships |

- League age is the player’s age on July 31, 2026. The same age decides which tees a player uses. A 13u league player who is 9 or younger on that date cannot be a 13u All-Star.
- No 9u All-Stars. PGA’s summary of 2026 changes says the 9u division is local league only and has no All-Star season.
- Mileage means driving distance. The same summary says the 75 miles is driving distance, not a straight line. Residence is the street address of a parent or court-appointed guardian, or the school, held within the calendar year.
- Exemptions. PGA Jr. League’s National Committee reviews exemption requests and can waive a requirement in special circumstances. It can also ask for proof that a player was active, such as scorecards, schedules and photos.
The All-Star Season page ties the minimum age to golf’s American Development Model, and names the pressure children might face at a national championship with a live broadcast as a key factor.
How an All-Star team forms
A league earns All-Star teams by size. The 2026 Conditions of Play say a league must have an active recreational program and a minimum number of “active and unique” players:
| All-Star teams | 13u players in the league | 17u players in the league |
|---|---|---|
| One | 24 or more | 8 or more |
| Two | 48 or more | 16 or more |
| Three | 72 or more | 24 or more |
| Each further team | 24 more | 8 more |
Source: PGA Jr. League, 2026 Conditions of Play, All-Star Teams. All 9u players count toward a league’s 13u total. The 2026 edition adds that 17u minimums may increase in 2027.
Once a league qualifies, the team is eight players from the league’s teams. The Conditions of Play let the league compose the team as it sees fit, and it may name its All-Stars before the recreational season ends. The Conditions of Play set no selection formula, so ask the coach how and when players are chosen.
Being picked is not the last step. PGA’s coach help pages say the coach requests an All-Star Season program, which PGA Jr. League must approve, rosters the players and then emails each family an invitation. A parent or guardian has to complete that registration with the same MyPGA account used for the local league. Until then the player is not officially on the team and cannot play in All-Star events. The All-Star program can carry its own coaching fee, which the coach sets.
Coaches must submit rosters by their Section’s deadline or before the team’s first All-Star Play Day. A team that turns up short is not penalized, but one that arrives with four players or fewer cannot advance.
The pathway from the league season to the championship
- The recreational season. Players take part in their local league, and the league forms its All-Star team or teams from its own rosters.
- All-Star Play Days. Optional nine-hole team scramble events scored by aggregate stroke play. To count in 2026 a Play Day had to be held between May 1 and August 19. A team with three or more Play Days, or two Play Days and a Section event, is ranked on its Regional Leaderboard by its best three totals. The top four 13u and top four 17u teams on each leaderboard on August 21, 2026 were invited to a Regional.
- Sectionals. Each of the 41 PGA Sections holds 13u and 17u competitions. Depending on the size of the Section there may be Section Qualifiers before the Section Championship. Every All-Star team in the Section is welcome, and Section Champions move on to Regionals.
- Regionals. There are 12. Eight 13u and eight 17u teams play each one. In each division, four qualify through their Sections and four through the Regional Leaderboard. If a team earns both, it takes the Section spot and the next leaderboard team also qualifies.
- The PGA Jr. League Championship. The 12 Regional champions in each division play it. Like Regionals, it combines stroke play and match play.
| Stage | 2026 entry fee |
|---|---|
| All-Star Play Day | Set by the host coach |
| Sectionals | None |
| Regional | $300 per All-Star player |
| Championship | $500 per player |

The Conditions of Play say the championship fee includes practice and competition rounds, player meals and gifts, and access to discounted hotel options, and that teams are encouraged to fundraise or find local sponsors. They list no travel or lodging cover beyond those hotel options, so ask the coach how the team plans to pay for the trip.
What changes once the Conditions of Play are enforced
Six points from the 2026 edition that a family moving from the local league into All-Star play will meet:
- Spectators. They agree to stay on the cart path, to have no contact with players during the competition and not to caddie.
- Coach advice. At Play Days and Sectionals a coach may advise at any time. At Regionals and the championship a coach may speak to players only between holes.
- Tees. The tee a player uses is set by league age and by whether the player is a boy or a girl, in four tee groups.
- Scoring limits. The maximum score on a hole is triple bogey, and the maximum penalty for any rules breach is one stroke.
- Scorecards. At Regionals and the championship, recording and submitting the correct score is the player’s responsibility.
- Push carts. Electric push carts are prohibited in All-Star competition from the Sectional Qualifiers and Championships onward.
This is a selection, not the rulebook. Read the 2026 Conditions of Play before the first All-Star event, and see our parent rules guide for general etiquette at junior events.
What is not published for 2027
On October 11, 2026, PGA’s support center listed 2026 editions only: the 2026 Conditions of Play, the 2026 All-Star Play Day Handbook and the 2026 summaries of changes. No 2027 edition was available, so nothing on this page is a 2027 rule.
When the 2027 Conditions of Play appear, check these first:
- the league age date and the age range for each division;
- the league minimums, since the 2026 edition says the 17u minimums may increase in 2027;
- the mileage requirement and the membership deadline;
- the Regional and Championship entry fees;
- the Play Day window and the Regional Leaderboard cut-off.
The Conditions of Play are the document to read, not a summary of them. PGA Jr. League’s All-Star Season page links the current edition.
Questions to ask your coach
- Does our league have enough players to field an All-Star team in this division?
- How and when are the eight players chosen?
- What is the All-Star program fee, and which Play Days or Section events will the team enter?
- What is our Section’s roster deadline?
- If the team advances, who pays the Regional and Championship entry fees and the travel?

- Where can I find PGA Jr. League Championship scores?
- On the organizer's own pages. PGA Jr. League's Championship page sends spectators to two Championship hubs on PGA.com, one for 13u and one for 17u, for scores and stories. Its Regionals page links the scores for each of the 12 Regionals. This guide links all of them in its first section and does not carry scores itself.
- Who is eligible to be a PGA Jr. League All-Star?
- Under the 2026 Conditions of Play, a 13u All-Star must be no younger than 10 and no older than 13 on July 31, 2026, and a 17u All-Star no younger than 14 and no older than 17. The player must also be an active, registered #GameChanger Club member in the local league the team represents, in a program within 75 miles of driving distance of home or school. The 2027 requirements are not published.
- How are PGA Jr. League All-Star teams chosen?
- An All-Star team is eight players from the teams in one local league. The 2026 Conditions of Play let the league compose the team as it sees fit and set no selection formula, so ask the coach how and when players are chosen. A parent or guardian must then complete the All-Star registration the coach sends by email.
- Is there a 9u All-Star team?
- No. PGA's summary of 2026 changes says the 9u division is local league only and has no All-Star season. A 13u All-Star must also be at least 10 on July 31, 2026, so a younger player in a 13u league cannot be on a 13u All-Star team.
- How does a team get to the PGA Jr. League Championship?
- An All-Star team reaches one of 12 Regionals through its Section or by finishing in the top four of its Regional Leaderboard, which ranks teams on their best three All-Star Play Day totals. The 12 Regional champions in each division play the championship.
- How much does the PGA Jr. League All-Star Season cost?
- The 2026 Conditions of Play list no entry fee for Sectionals, $300 per All-Star player at a Regional and $500 per player at the championship. All-Star Play Day fees are set by the host coach, and the All-Star program can carry its own coaching fee. Travel is not listed as included. The 2027 fees are not published.
- When is the PGA Jr. League Championship?
- For 2026, PGA Jr. League's Championship page lists the 17u Championship for October 21 to 25 at Twin Warriors Golf Club in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico, and the 13u Championship for November 11 to 15 at Fields Ranch West at PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas. A PGA of America story gives October 22 to 25 for the 17u event, so confirm the playing days with the team's coach.
- What are the 2027 PGA Jr. League All-Star requirements?
- They were not published when this page was checked on October 11, 2026. Every figure here comes from the 2026 Conditions of Play, which itself says 17u league minimums may increase in 2027. Read the 2027 edition when PGA Jr. League posts it.

What this page cannot tell you
- Every requirement here is from the 2026 edition. PGA Jr. League had not published 2027 Conditions of Play when this page was checked, and the 2026 edition itself says 17u league minimums may increase in 2027.
- Sections set their own roster deadlines and Sectional formats, and further rules addendums are issued at each level of the All-Star Season. This page does not have them.
- Whether a particular player or league is eligible is decided by the coach, the Section and PGA Jr. League's National Committee, not by this page.
- This page carries no scores or results. The official pages linked in the first section do.
- PGA Jr. League's Championship page, a PGA of America story and the 17u Championship hub give different dates for the 2026 17u Championship. All three are quoted.
